Christian Bogmans serves as a senior economist in the Commodities Unit of the IMF's Research Department. Prior to joining the IMF, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Birmingham in the UK. He has a PhD in Economics from Tilburg University. His research has covered a range of issues related to international trade, climate change and the energy transition, food insecurity, productivity, and more recently the economic impacts of AI.
